This Privacy Notice and its Addendum(s) (“Privacy Notice”) describe how Boon Exclusive Errand Services (BEES) Inc., its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, associated companies and jointly controlled entities (collectively “BEES”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collect, use, process and disclose your Personal Data through the use of Bees' mobile applications and websites (respectively “Apps” and “Websites”), as well as products, features and other services globally, operated by Bees (collectively, “Services”).

Scope of This Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice applies to our consumers, agents, vendors, suppliers, partners (including driver, delivery, and merchant partners), contractors, and service providers (collectively "you" or "yours").

Definition of Personal Data

"Personal Data" is any information that can be used to identify you or from which you are identifiable. This includes, but is not limited to, your name, nationality, telephone number, bank and credit card details, personal interests, email address, image, government-issued identification numbers, biometric data, race, date of birth, marital status, religion, health information, vehicle and insurance information, employment information, and financial information.  

Lawful Basis for Processing Personal Data

We typically collect, use, disclose, or otherwise process your personal data under this Privacy Notice with your consent or in compliance with applicable laws, such as:

  • Legal Requirements: When required to comply with legal requirements.

  • Contractual Obligations: When required to enter into or perform a contract with you.

  • Legitimate Interests: For our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of others, including the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice.

I. Data Collection

We collect personal data about you in several ways and may combine information from different sources.

When You Interact with Our Services

  • Account Creation: When you create an account, we collect information like your name, contact details, and identification.

  • Bees Rider Application: If you apply to become a Bees Rider, we collect your driver's license, vehicle details, and background check results.

  • Social Media Interactions: We may collect information from your social media profiles if you interact with our pages.

  • Contests and Events: If you participate in contests or events, we may collect information like photos, videos, or audio recordings.

  • Identity Verification: We may verify your identity using social media logins, selfies, or payment card information.

  • Surveys: We may ask you to complete surveys that collect demographic information.

  • Ride Recordings: If you agree to ride with in-vehicle audio or video recording, we'll collect that data.

Through App and Service Usage

  • Location: We may collect your location data.

  • Feedback: We may collect your feedback, ratings, and compliments.

  • Transactions: We may collect information about your payments and transactions.

  • Usage: We may collect information about how you interact with our apps, websites, or services.

  • Device Information: We may collect information about your device, such as its model, serial number, IP address, GPS location, IMEI number, and advertising identifiers.

In-App Communication

We may collect personal data that you enter in messages when using our in-app communication features.

From other sources

We may collect Personal Data, including but not limited to your name, contact information, and other identification information where needed from other sources. Such sources include:

  • Referral programs;

  • Our business partners, such as fleet partners, payment providers, ride-hailing partners and transport partners;

  • Insurance and financial providers;

  • Credit bureaus, alternative credit scoring agencies, and any other credit reporting organizations;    

  • Publicly available or governmental sources of data;

  • When our users add you as an emergency contact;

  • When our users add you as a recipient or beneficiary of any use of our Services;

  • When you use our in-app chat; and

  • Marketing services providers or partners.

Sensitive Personal Data

Some of the personal data we collect is considered sensitive. This includes information about your race, national ID information, religious beliefs, background information (including financial and criminal records, where legally permissible), health data, disability, marital status, and biometric data. We only collect sensitive personal data with your consent or as required by law. If you need to provide documentation or information that contains sensitive personal data (which is not required for the purpose), please redact the sensitive information before submitting it.  

Personal Data of Others

If you provide us with personal data of other individuals (like your spouse, family members, or friends), you represent that you have their consent to collect, use, and disclose their data as described in this Privacy Notice.

Personal Data of Minors

If you are a parent or legal guardian, please do not allow minors to submit personal data to Bees. If a minor's personal data is disclosed to Bees, you consent to the processing of their data and agree to be bound by this Privacy Notice and take responsibility for their actions.

We may use your personal data for the following purposes, and we may link your data across different services if you use multiple Bees services or capacities:

Providing Services and Features

  • Delivering Services: We use your data to provide, personalize, and improve our apps, websites, and services.

  • Eligibility Verification: We process, manage, or verify your eligibility for products, services, promotions, rewards, and subscriptions.

  • Due Diligence and Risk Assessment: We conduct due diligence checks and risk assessments.

  • Identity and Age Verification: We verify your identity and age.

  • Ride Validation and Payment: We validate your ride and process payments.

  • Insurance and Financing: We offer, obtain, provide, facilitate, or maintain insurance or financing solutions.

  • Trip Tracking: We track the progress of your trip and detect abnormal trip variations.

  • Loyalty Programs: We allow you to participate in loyalty programs or marketing activities organized by our merchant partners.

  • Personalized Experience: We personalize your app experience by recommending relevant products and services, identifying your preferences, and personalizing your experience.

  • Seamless Experience: We make your experience more seamless by automatically filling in registration information or when you participate in surveys.

  • Internal Operations: We perform internal operations necessary to provide our services, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, monitoring, and analyzing usage trends.

  • Security: We protect the security and integrity of the services and any facilities or equipment used to make the services available.

  • User Communication: We enable communications between our users.

  • Surveys and Studies: We invite you to participate in our surveys and studies.

  • Fleet Resource Management: We enable our partners to manage and allocate fleet resources.

  • Data Processing Services: We fulfill data processing services on behalf of data controllers (organizations you have purchased goods or services from).

Safety and Security

  • Partner Screening: We screen driver and delivery partners before allowing them to use our services.

  • Unsafe Driving Detection: We identify unsafe driving behavior and provide personalized feedback to driver partners.

  • Identity Verification: We verify your identity when you log in to Bees.

  • Fraud Prevention: We use device, location, profile, usage, and other personal data to prevent, detect, and combat fraud or unsafe activities.

  • Compliance Monitoring: We monitor compliance with our terms and conditions and policies.

User Support

  • Issue Resolution: We investigate and address user support concerns.

  • Support Improvement: We monitor and improve our user support responses.

  • Feedback Handling: We respond to questions, comments, and feedback.

  • Issue Resolution Updates: We inform you about steps taken to resolve user support issues.

We may communicate such marketing to you by various means, where applicable (including by SMS, chat applications, push notifications, calls, and email).  If you wish to unsubscribe from receiving such marketing communications, please click on the unsubscribe link in the relevant email or message. Alternatively, you may also update your preferences in our App settings. Please note that while you may opt out of marketing or promotion communications, Bees may still send you account and/or service-related messages (such as two-factor authentication, information on your transactions, rewards, etc.).  

User Published Content

If you publish content (such as a review or comment) on Bee’s platform, it will be shown publicly along with your data (such as profile name, uploaded photo(s)), and other information you choose to include in your content.

III. We may use your personal data for legal reasons, such as:

  • Resolving Disputes: Investigating and resolving claims or disputes.

  • Preventing Crime: Detecting, preventing, or prosecuting criminal activity.

  • Adhering to Laws: Complying with applicable laws and regulations.

We might also use your data when advised by legal experts or authorities. For instance, we may use your data to:

  • Obey Court Orders: Complying with court orders or other legal mandates.

  • Uphold Agreements: Enforcing our Terms of Service or other contracts.

Managing Targeted Ads on Other Platforms

We may facilitate the display of targeted advertising on other platforms.

You can limit our use of your personal data for targeted advertising by adjusting your preferences in our Bees app. Depending on your phone and operating system, you may be able to disable the use of mobile identifiers (like Apple's IDFA or Google's GAID) and tracking across apps and websites by adjusting your device settings. Even if we don't use your personal data for targeted ads, you may still see generic ads that seem relevant to you. This may be because we've engaged third-party advertisers to display ads to users with specific attributes or demographics. You can limit seeing these ads by managing your preferences on those platforms.

VII. Data Security

We implement reasonable legal, organizational, and technical measures to protect your personal data. This includes measures to prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure of your data. We limit access to your data to our employees on a need-to-know basis and require those who handle your data to treat it confidentially. However, please be aware that no data transmission over the internet is completely secure. While we do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted online. Any transmission remains at your own risk.  

Your Rights Regarding Your Personal Data

You may have the following rights regarding your personal data, subject to applicable laws and regulations:

  • Access and Copy: Inquire about the processing of your personal data and request a copy.

  • Correction and Deletion: Request the correction or deletion of your personal data in certain cases.

  • Restriction and Objection: Request the restriction of or object to the processing of your personal data in certain cases.

  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data, where applicable.

  • Data Portability: Request receipt or transmission of your personal data to another organization in a machine-readable format, where applicable.

  • Complain to Authority: Complain to the relevant data privacy authority if your data privacy rights are violated or if you suffer harm due to unlawful processing.

If you choose to share your personal data with us, you can always opt not to. If you withdraw your consent after providing it, we will respect your choice, subject to legal obligations. However, withdrawing your consent or not sharing your data may limit our ability to provide certain services or features described in Section II (Use of Personal Data). After you withdraw consent, we may still be able to process your personal data to the extent required or permitted by law. We will review and verify all requests. To verify your authority to make a request, we may require supporting information or documentation. Once verified, we will fulfill your request within the timelines prescribed by applicable laws.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or comply with legal requirements. We will notify you through the app, email, or other appropriate means at least five (5) business days before the changes take effect. The updated version will always be available on our website at https://www.bees-ph.com for your reference. Please review the Privacy Notice regularly to stay informed of any updates. Your continued use of our apps, websites, or services, purchasing products from Bees, or continuing to communicate or engage with Bees after any changes are made will be considered your acceptance of those changes.
